ALAF Limited is inviting applications for the position of Retail & Service Center Manager based in Dar es Salaam. This senior-level opportunity is ideal for experienced professionals with a strong background in sales, branch operations, and commercial management within the manufacturing, construction, building materials, or FMCG sectors. The successful candidate will oversee the overall operations of the service centre while driving direct sales, project sales, and value-added roofing solutions across the assigned market.
Reporting as part of the commercial leadership team, the Retail & Service Center Manager will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence, maintaining customer satisfaction, managing sales teams, and achieving business growth targets. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to one of Tanzania’s leading roofing and building materials manufacturers.
Responsibilities
- Manage the overall operations of the service centre, including profiling activities and maintaining coil and finished goods inventory.
- Ensure the service centre is maintained in a safe, organized, and efficient condition.
- Lead and manage the direct sales team to achieve business targets within the assigned areas.
- Oversee sales activities for walk-in customers and ensure excellent customer service.
- Ensure customer distribution orders are profiled and dispatched according to instructions from the Customer Service Department.
- Manage project sales activities through the Technical Sales Representative.
- Coordinate and implement marketing communication (MARCOM) programs with support from the Marketing team.
- Develop and expand the Roofing Solutions business by promoting roofing sheets, accessories, and truss systems.
- Achieve targeted sales volume, profitability, and contribution per metric ton (MT).
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships while identifying opportunities for business growth.
- Monitor service centre performance and implement continuous operational improvements.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Commerce, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- A postgraduate qualification such as an MBA or a master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in sales, branch operations, or commercial management.
- At least three (3) years of experience in a managerial role.
- Proven experience managing a retail outlet, service centre, branch, or distribution network within the manufacturing, building materials, steel, construction, or FMCG industry.
- Demonstrated experience in direct sales, project sales, key account management, and customer relationship management.
- Experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing sales and operations teams.
- Proven record of consistently achieving sales, operational, and profitability targets.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
