MoneyMax Microfinance is inviting applications for the position of Loan Officer Supervisor to join its Lending Department in Arusha. This full-time opportunity is ideal for finance, banking, and microfinance professionals who are passionate about supporting community development through responsible lending and portfolio management. The successful candidate will play a key role in underwriting, originating, monitoring, and managing the organization’s loan portfolio while ensuring compliance with lending policies and minimizing financial and legal risks.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Loan Officer Supervisor will collaborate with the Financial Services Consultant, Loan Committee, and external financial partners to support MoneyMax’s mission of providing accessible financial services to communities in Arusha. Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly and professionally to loan and technical assistance inquiries.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients while promoting MoneyMax’s financial products and services.
  • Conduct due diligence and comprehensive financial analysis of loan applications.
  • Prepare credit memorandums and lending recommendations in accordance with lending policies and programme guidelines.
  • Coordinate and manage all loan closing activities, including:
    • Negotiating loan terms.
    • Preparing commitment letters.
    • Reviewing due diligence requirements.
    • Ordering and reviewing loan documentation.
    • Coordinating loan disbursements.
  • Monitor borrower compliance with loan agreements and repayment obligations.
  • Analyze financial statements and borrower reports to assess portfolio performance.
  • Conduct site visits and collateral inspections where necessary.
  • Perform loan risk ratings in accordance with MoneyMax’s lending policies.
  • Maintain portfolio quality by monitoring repayments, recoveries, charge-offs, and other portfolio management activities.
  • Maintain accurate borrower records for reporting, compliance, impact tracking, audits, and internal reviews.
  • Recommend improvements to lending policies and present portfolio performance reports to the Management Board.
  • Attend Loan Committee meetings when required.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with banks, credit unions, government agencies, foundations, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports and provide regular updates to the Managing Director.
  • Attend meetings, seminars, conferences, and training sessions to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Managing Director.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Microfinance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in business, finance, banking, lending, or microfinance.
  • Proven experience in relationship development and client management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare financial reports, executive summaries, and performance reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial management software.
  • Willingness to undergo a background check, including a credit report.
  • Willingness to provide a valid police clearance certificate.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be permanent residents of Arusha.
  • Provide two referees with permanent addresses in Arusha.

Compensation

  • Monthly salary ranging from TZS 600,000 to TZS 700,000.
  • Final salary will be based on the successful candidate’s qualifications, experience, and educational background.
