Responsibilities
Budget Management
- Assist in preparing, analyzing, verifying, and consolidating budget proposals.
- Conduct financial analyses and recommend measures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Monitor implementation of the approved budget.
- Participate in preparing financial and budget reports.
- Prepare budget forecasts aligned with operational, procurement, and recruitment plans.
- Monitor fund availability and prepare expenditure statements supported by financial analysis.
- Ensure expenditures are recorded according to organizational financial policies and regulations.
- Apply approved budget structures consistently across all financial activities.
- Prepare correspondence and respond to budget-related queries.
- Assist in responding to internal and external audit observations.
Accounts Payable
- Monitor all payments and expenditures, including payroll, invoices, purchase orders, and supplier statements.
- Reconcile financial transactions and verify accounting records.
- Maintain accurate historical financial records.
- Process employee expense reimbursements and payroll-related payments.
- Schedule vendor payments and ensure timely settlement of outstanding obligations.
- Respond to supplier financial inquiries.
- Prepare monthly accounts payable reports and financial analyses.
- Identify opportunities to improve payment processes and efficiency.
Cost Control
- Monitor operational budgets across business units.
- Review routine company expenditures to ensure compliance with approved financial policies.
- Compare actual expenditure with approved budgets to minimize cost variances.
- Monitor company costs and prepare cost control reports.
- Evaluate project costs to ensure efficient resource utilization.
- Support the preparation of financial models and economic analyses for management decision-making.
- Review departmental project agreements to ensure compliance with Finance and Accounting policies.
Qualifications Required
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Taxation, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in budgeting, cost control, and accounts payable.
- Tanzanian nationality.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Tally, or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- High level of discipline and professionalism.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
