Duties and Responsibilities
The successful Registrar’s Clerk will provide clerical and administrative support within the High Court.
Key responsibilities include:
- Registering and allocating case numbers to pleadings and court documents.
- Ensuring that relevant documents have been served on the appropriate parties.
- Preparing files for litigants and attorneys.
- Updating files with returns or proof of service.
- Safeguarding and retrieving court records.
- Monitoring, filing, archiving and disposing of records in accordance with applicable procedures.
- Recording documents and requests received from litigants.
- Responding to enquiries from members of the public and other parties.
- Providing case-management support.
- Processing set-down notices.
- Implementing file-movement and case-management procedures.
- Supporting administrative registrar functions.
- Maintaining relevant registers.
- Submitting leave forms to Human Resources.
- Following telephone and leave procedures.
- Preparing and signing the required performance agreement.
