Minimum Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful Household Workers will provide cleaning and housekeeping services at Frere Tertiary Hospital.

Main duties include:

  • Sweeping, washing, dusting, polishing and vacuuming
  • Cleaning bathrooms and restrooms
  • Removing and disposing of waste
  • Cleaning offices and other designated areas
  • Cleaning kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Maintaining cleaning equipment
  • Safely storing cleaning materials
  • Monitoring cleaning material supplies
  • Reporting shortages and damaged equipment
  • Preparing and cleaning meeting rooms
  • Reporting maintenance problems
  • Following workplace health and safety procedures
  • Maintaining infection control and hygiene standards

Employees may also be required to rotate between different work areas according to operational requirements.
